During the year or so where I was either too busy or too burned out to work on the comic, I was still actively thinking about it. Daisy’s incident was originally just a simple gag, but I started mapping out how it all would have unfolded. I just wasn’t up to drawing any of it, even now. But I also didn’t want to waste all of those extra details I’d cooked up, so I settled on squeezing them into corporate incident reports.
Even still, there are some things that didn’t quite fit into the reports. Violet being an infant at the time, Alice couldn’t have taken her onto Space Mountain. She could have left her with Lily, but the way the initial gag was written implied that both of them were there in line with Daisy. The solution is that they’d only planned on sticking with the group as far as the ride’s entrance so that Lily could get a picture of Daisy standing triumphantly in front of the measuring post, after which she and Alice would exit the line and find other things to do.
